A Bit More About Me

Although my life has been enriched with many blessings, I (like everyone else) have encountered many forms of loss, grief and difficulty. And it is because of these experiences that I know the great importance of the personal ministry of the Word - counselling. For this reason, as a fellow sufferer who lives in this broken world, I hope to be a gentle source of care and comfort for those in their time of need. Requiring help in the form of counselling is nothing to be ashamed of, nor is it anything to ignore or try to manage in isolation. As it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-5,

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

Good counsel that is rooted in Christ and the good news of the gospel works as cool, quenching water to a dry soul. And we all need that refreshment in different seasons of life. And it is my honour to be an incarnational presence of care to the weary and broken in this increasingly digital world. Jesus has shown up for me in so many times of need through the hands and feet of brothers and sisters in Christ. And it is my joy to be able to serve Him and the church through the work of Biblical Counselling,  in the same way.

Other passions of mine (besides my husband and children) include writing, reading, being with dear friends and family, tea, Christmas time, Fall, thrifting, listening to music or podcasts, cooking, puzzling and anything that fits into the general category of cozy, introverted, grandma. Although I am not a grandma I seem to exhibit the habits and behaviour of an elderly woman and I'm totally at peace with that. As I get older, I think I'm growing into my personality. ;)
